This diatomaceous earth is a sedimentary rock composed of chemically inert and fossilized remains of billions of microscopic algae-like organisms, called diatoms which are so fine and has the ability to absorb or filter impurities of water down to 3 - 5 microns. This particular product is a replacement for Purex 72 Sq. It has a length of 37-5/16 inches and a width of 10-3/4 inches. Its collar has a single notch and is covered with a black adapter. Length is measured from collar notch to opposite end of the grid.
